Kriya is a Sanskrit word meaning “evolutionary action” or “purifying movement.”   In the context of Yoga, it is a set of intentional practices that combine breathwork, movement, mantra, mudra and intentional focus. This practices helps the practitioner learn to direct energy (prana) through the body in specific ways, supporting the nervous system, brain health, respiratory health, etc.,  while also aiding in pranic awakening and cleansing of the subtle body.

“Evening Kriya Set and Sound Savasana,” is a mostly seated practice that supports calming, relaxation and helps one end their day with peaceful awareness. This class brings forward pranayama and mantra practices from a few yoga traditions—most notably Sattva Himalayan Kriya, Kundalini and the devotional practices of Bhakti Yoga. Each session is a unique inner adventure: you might chant to Lakshmi, release stress with extended exhale, quiet the mind with mudra or experience your whole body breathing with Cosmic breath. Class closes with a short crystal bowl sound healing savasana.
